Obituary for Thomas Fioretti

Mr. Thomas (Gaetano) Fioretti, 96, of Yorktown Heights, NY, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 27, 2021.

Born and raised in East Harlem, New York, Thomas came of age in the Great Depression raised by his mother and grandmother. He served his country valiantly as an Army private in World War II, including in the Battle of the Bulge. He married his childhood sweetheart, Carmela and moved to the Bronx, New York where they raised two children, Susan and Albert.

Thomas was a dedicated father, grandfather, and uncle. He was beloved by all those who knew him for his unique spirit and passion for life. He had a deep love for his family, his friends, sports, and American diners. He will forever be remembered for his generosity, humor, and affection.

He is predeceased in death by his wife of 69 years, Carmela Patanella Fioretti and his brothers Vincent (Jimmy), Joseph and his sister Angelina Ciuffreda. He is survived by his daughter Susan and her husband Ralph Giordano, and son Albert and his wife Anita all of Yorktown Heights, NY, grandchildren Ralph Giordano and his wife Stella of Ridgefield, CT, Thomas Giordano of Yorktown Heights, Kristin and her husband Milosz Fioretti-Reterski of Alexandria, VA, and Nicole Fioretti of Colorado Springs, CO, and many loved nieces and nephews. His entire family sends our heartfelt thank you to everyone for their kind thoughts and prayers for our beloved Dad. We were truly blessed to have had him by our side for all of these years. We are forever grateful for his love.
