Obituary for Sheldon C. Gardner
Cortlandt Manor, NY

Sheldon C. Gardner, 93 died unexpectedly April 19, 2020 at New York Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital.
He was born May 9, 1927, in Putnam Valley NY, the son of Clarence and Daisy (Griffen) Gardner.
At seventeen years of age, Sheldon joined the US Merchant Marines serving in both the Atlantic and Pacific theaters during WWII. After the war he married his childhood sweetheart, Marjorie Gordinier and they settled in the town of Cortlandt, NY. They were married for 62 years.
Sheldon started, owned and ran his own business, SC Gardner Inc. for 69 years. Dad was a husband, father, brother, son. Sheldon was a local business owner and quite the storyteller.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Marge.
Surviving are his daughters Lynn Nell, Cheryl DeAngelis, his son David Gardner and his wife Jacky Tighe and his sister Gloria Joyce Scott.
Due to Covid-19 open wake is not possible. However, a future celebration of Sheldon Gardner’s life will be scheduled.
Internment will be at Hillside Cemetery, Cortlandt Manor Friday April 24, 2020 at approximately 12 noon.
The funeral service will be live-streamed.
In lieu of flowers please make donation to the Peak Community Church in Sheldon’s memory.
