Mrs Weyant, (I will always call her) was my English teacher at LHS. Tough? Yes, Demanding? Yes. But.her love and dedication to writing has been with me to this day. Always have remembered “Sarge” with fondest memories. I am blessed to have had her in my life. Never will be forgotten. Condolences to the family.

When I met Laura, she was known to me as my best friend's Mom...who nicknamed me Minnie Mouse. I found her to be so clever and smart, a tough cookie and generous to a fault. As I grew up, we became friends, and eventually I was able to stop calling her "Mrs. Weyant" and graduated to "Laura". I will miss our long conversations and wonderful meals together. Rest in peace, my friend.

Laura was my mother's baby sister and as a youngster she was my teenage idol. She taught me about adventure. She gave me ride on the handlebars of her bike, she let me sleep over in the barn with her and a teen friend. After she married and moved to Yorktown she had me come and stay with them for a week. I marveled at the size of her house.

When my husband and I married and moved to Westchester she frequently included us in family gatherings: Thanksgivings, Christmas, weddings and graduations. Happy times with Carolyn's wonderful cooking.

Laura was a complicated woman; she could be very caring and generous, she was a straight shooter and told you what she thought, she had strong opinions, and she could be a tough task master. When I retired from my full time job she decided I should help her do a thorough house cleaning and sort through her collections. I drove to Yorktown many times and spent full days working with her, catching up on family stories, and enjoying long lunches.

Laura was a major player in my life and I shall miss her very much.

Our deepest condolences to the family and friends.

Much love, Pat and Steve Blau
