Kathleen Elsa McLaughlin, a lifelong resident of Putnam Valley, NY passed Saturday June 4, 2022 at Calvary Hospital. Kathleen was 77 years old. Born on November 26, 1944 to the late Paul Leo and Doris Elsa McLaughlin, she worked as Director of the Putnam Valley Library for more than 25 years prior to her retirement. Kathleen was a great champion in the formation of the Lake Oscawana Weed District now known as LOMAC (Lake Oscawana Management Advisory Commission) and chaired that group for over 30 years up until March of this year. Well respected in the community for her steadfast work as an environmental advocate, Kathleen loved Oscawana Lake with all her heart, was a kind and diplomatic person and an avid fan of the Irish singer Paul Byrom.
