After a lifetime of serving his country, community and church, Jack Lancaster passed away peacefully at home on December 12, 2018.
Jack was born on December 8, 1924 and was raised in Peekskill, NY. He was the son of Lilian (Trevora) Lancaster and Albert Lancaster. He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years Helen (Link) Lancaster. Jack was also preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.
Jack is survived by his sister Shirley Siciliano, son Brian and his wife Jill, daughter Ellen, son Mark and his wife Loren. In addition to his sons and daughter, Jack has five grandchildren, Brandon, Ryan, Robert, Emma, Maxwell, two great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Jack enlisted in the US Navy in February 1943 and served throughout WWII. He was awarded the American Theater Medal, European Theater Metal and Victory Medal. As a result of enlisting in the US Navy, Jack was unable to graduate with his high school class and was awarded his high school diploma in July 2015 at the age of 91.

He provided lessons on the history of Peekskill to many local school classes.
Family and friends will be received at the Curry & Giordano Funeral Home located at 313 North James Street Peekskill NY on Monday, December 17, 2018 from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM.
A memorial service will be held 10 AM, Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 137 North Division Street, Peekskill, NY followed by interment at Hillside Cemetery.
