Obituary

James Joseph Campion left this world too soon at the age of 65. He was at his home in Putnam Valley at the time of passing on Friday, September 25th, 2020. Jimmy was born February 4th, 1955 in Yonkers, N.Y., the first son of parents James and Olga Campion.

Jimmy was raised with his siblings in Yonkers, N.Y. and graduated from Saunders Trades & Technical High School in 1973. He relocated to the Hudson Valley in the mid-1980’s where he raised his daughter, Jessica, and lived in the area for the remainder of his years.

Jimmy spent a number of years working as a computer operator at LCS Industries in Clifton, N.J. and lastly retired from his career in IT Management at DialAmerica in Mahwah, N.J.

Jimmy held a fervent love of sports and the outdoors, enjoying many years as a team member of the Hollow Heads softball team from his youth through adulthood, and spending his free time watching football and baseball. He had a fondness for being on or near the water, whether it be to sail, fish, or enjoy the golden hour.

Jimmy was a devoted son, and loving father and grandfather. He is survived by his mother, Olga of Yonkers, N.Y., his daughter Jessica of Los Angeles, CA, her husband Edgar, and their daughter Eden. He is predeceased by his father, James Daniel Campion, and sister, Kathleen Mary Millen. Jimmy was an ever-giving, selfless man who was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Jimmy, my friend, thanks for all the good memories from childhood to teenagers and all the years after. Playing stickball in Longfellow, baseball in Yonkers rec league, football & softball with the Hollow Heads and all the many adventures. Most of all for being a good lifelong friend. My love and condolences to the Campion family. May your memories with Jimmy bring you comfort and may God bring you peace.
