Evelyn Anna Pfeifer was born on October 25, 1922 to William Bier and Augusta Wengert in Brooklyn, New York. She is predeceased by her two siblings: her brother William and her sister Ellen. Her younger sister, Patricia Schmitt, survives her. After WW2, Evelyn married her childhood sweetheart, Frank Pfeifer, on September 15, 1946. For the next 67 years they remained happily married until his death on May 3, 2013. In 1953 they moved to Cortlandt Manor, New York where Evelyn worked in the Lakeland School District, first as a cafeteria aide, next as an assistant librarian, and finally retiring as secretary to the vice principal in Copper Beech Middle School. Evelyn enjoyed quilting, needlework, and remained an avid bowler until her death. She attended St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Putnam Valley, and was a faithful member of The Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer in Peekskill until her death. She is survived by her two children Richard Pfeifer and Cheryl Southern and their respective spouses, Carol and Thomas. She has five grandchildren: Brian Pfeifer and his wife Bonnie, Sandra Daubman and her husband Paul Daubman Jr., Jessica Paulwell and her husband Maurice Paulwell, Kevin Southern, and Kyle Southern and his fiancé Kelsey Towle. Her five great grandchildren include: Paul Daubman III, Hailey Daubman and Jacob, Andrew, and Shannon Pfeifer.
