Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Edith Y. Rudy (Edie Cunningham) passed peacefully into the Lord’s arms on July 21, 2019 after a prolonged illness. She was 87.

Edie was born on December 21, 1931 to Mary and George Cunningham in Stamford, CT. She grew up in Verplank and Buchanan where she met her husband and best friend, Michael Rudy. She was a graduate of Hendrick Hudson High School.

For many years, Edie was a devoted servant of God and her church, the United Methodist Church in Shrub Oak where she volunteered whenever and wherever needed. She made many friends there and everywhere she went with her sweet smile and likable personality.

Edie is predeceased by her husband, Michael Rudy, her parents and her brothers, Robert and George Cunningham.

She is survived by her brother, David Cunningham, her two sisters, Jean Piucci and Mary Elizabeth(Betty) Tracy, her two sons, John and Robert Rudy, her daughter, Cynthia Rossetti (Rudy) and her 4 grandchildren, Kaitlin Gillmer (Rudy), Kyle Rudy and Matthew and Jamison Rossetti. She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by those she has left behind.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Edie's honor to Regional Hospice and Palliative Care of Danbury, 30 Milestone Road, Danbury, CT 06810.
