Duane David Decker, a Poughkeepsie resident, has passed away on June 23, 2020. Duane was born on August 10, 1954, to Chester and Hazel Decker. Duane is survived by his wife Pamela of 30 years, his son Alex (Fariesa), and grandson Gabriel. Duane was raised in New Paltz, NY and was one of twelve children. Duane had many nieces, nephews, and friends that will deeply miss him. Duane was retired from the New Paltz school district. He had a love for animals and a passion for sports. Duane was a devoted father, husband, and friend. Duane would often refer to his wife as "Sweet P" and would often say "hi'ya big guy" to his son Alex, which he was very proud of. Bob and I were sorry to hear about Duane passing. At last he is free from pain. May he rest well, in God's warm embrace, until we all join him in everlasting peace.

If I had one word to describe Duane it's GIVING to his family. I've know Duane from the minute he met my sister (Pamela June) thirty years ago. He often told me stories of how they met and his love at first sight; from that moment on he gave his all to Pam. I have so many memories over the 30 years. He often talked of his work at New Paltz School District, his love of the lottery, the Giants and Big Foot. He was a devoted caregiver to not only his Mom but our Mom and Dad as well. We spent 30 years of holidays, birthdays, sorrows, doctor appointments and hospitalizations together. I wish we had 30 more. I weep and am devastated at the loss. May God give you the place in heaven you so richly deserve. Till we meet again...your sister-in-law, Barbara.
