David C. Christian made his long journey home to the Lord on June 19th. He was born in Wilkes Barre, PA on December 8, 1932 where he spent his childhood and graduated from Coughlin High School. He married the love of his life Dolores Klein on July 7, 1956, a wonderful partnership that lasted just short of 63 years. As a young man, he made his living as a drummer playing with bands across the country including Tommy Dorsey and Claude Thornhill. He played in many famous clubs in NYC including the Bon Soir where he heard a then unknown teenager named Barbra Streisand sing. Cortlandt Manor became his home in 1964 and he lived there over 54 years. He tended bar at the old Beechwood Inn and managed the carpet department at Sears before managing Ekizian Carpets where he worked for well over 30 years. His true passion of drumming was not forgotten as he played in countless wedding bands and other productions. An avid golfer he won his flight championship twice at Dogwood Knolls where he was known for his terrific short game. He was also President of the Buchanan Golf League for many years which still exists today and a lifetime member of the Elks Club. Dave was well liked by everyone and enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family and friends. He was predeceased by his mother, Ethel, his father, Sidney, and his brothers, Harold and Bobby and he is survived by his wife Dolores, son Jack, daughter-in-law Joanne and grandsons, Michael and Eric. His impact on everyone will never be forgotten. He will be remembered and loved forever.
